Danish Ambassador to Indonesia, Rasmus Abilgaard Kristensen invites delegations from friendly countries of Singapore, Malaysia, and Denmark to find out solution in managing water and waste water in Jakarta.
"We want to see Jakarta's challenges and see if it is a good fit to help some of water problems in Jakarta," he said, Tuesday (11/5).
City to Take Over Water ManagementAccording to him, Denmark has managed successfully in reducing water leakage and produce water consumption by 30 percent in some sectors, including households.
"Denmark is developing ways to reduce water leakage and how to produce water consumption by 30 percent in industries, households, and other sectors," he mentioned.
Meanwhile, Jakarta Deputy Governor for Population Control and Settlement, Suharti stated that in average 61.5 percent of Jakarta people use tap water provided by PD. PAM Jaya. While the others are still using groundwater that is prone to be contaminated.
"We want all Jakarta people to use piped water that can reach
settlements up to remote areas," she conveyed.
